How to Create a Holiday Wellness Vision (and Why It Matters)

Oct 21, 2025

The most wonderful time of the year.

That’s what we expect every year:  friends, family, and fun.  But for many women, it can feel more like a marathon of expectations, exhaustion, and guilt. There are presents to buy, parties to plan and attend, and endless to-do lists that seem to multiply overnight. Before we know it, our schedules are packed, our energy is drained, and our healthy habits slip to the bottom of the list.

What if, instead, you could finish the season feeling calm, confident, and energized, not depleted?

What Is a Holiday Wellness Vision?

Last week, I talked about creating a wellness vision which is a clear, motivating picture of what you want your health and life to look like. Think of it as your personal guide, something that reflects your goals, values, and strengths, and gives you a foundation to build upon.

A holiday wellness vision is simply a version of that vision focused on this time of year. It doesn’t replace your overall wellness vision.  It complements it. It’s a way to help you navigate the next few months with more intention and less overwhelm.

Why It Matters:

A holiday wellness vision helps you:

  • Focus on what matters most
  • Use your time and energy wisely
  • Keep your self-care realistic and intentional
  • Reduce guilt and increase joy

When you know what matters to you, you can make choices that support it without feeling like you’re saying “no” to everything or everyone else.

How to Create Your Holiday Wellness Vision

Creating your holiday wellness vision is similar to your general wellness vision, but with a seasonal focus.

Step 1: Reflect on What Matters Most This Season

Ask yourself:

  • How do I want to feel when the holidays are over?
  • What memories do I want to create?
  • What’s most important to me - energy, peace, presence, connection?

Step 2: Picture Your Best Holiday Self

Visualize the version of you who navigates the season with calm confidence.

  • What do you do differently?
  • What boundaries or habits help you feel grounded?
  • How do you find balance between giving to others and caring for yourself?

Tip: Focus on small, consistent habits that align with HER - Habits, Energy, and Resilience.

Step 3: Write Your Vision Statement

Write a short paragraph that describe how you want to experience the season.

Keep it positive and written in the present tense as if it’s already true.  Pick what supports your vision, not what you feel you “should” do.

Remember: A Strong Vision Is…

  • Tangible:  Specific and personal, not vague or generic
  • Positive & Strength-Focused:  Based on what you want, not what you don’t
  • Grounded in Values:  Reflects what truly matters to you
  • Current:  Written in the present tense
  • Supported:  Includes the people and resources that help you stay focused

The HER Connection

At Her Wellness Coaching, every vision connects back to HER - your Habits, Energy, and Resilience.

  • Habits: Small, consistent actions that keep you grounded through the chaos.
  • Energy: Protecting your energy lets you enjoy the season, not just survive it.
  • Resilience: When things get hectic, your vision helps you bounce back with grace.
